my son is in VIII of maharastra board and I heard that if student attemps for IIT JEE from maharastra board then it is quite difficult.
so what I have asked him to self-study the VIII std maths and science books from Schand publication.
at the moment I am not interested in the IIT JEE material but to build basics and inculcate the habit of self study -- the attribute I thought might be helpful.
Now what help I am looking from forum members is if there are some books or problem sets which can help in sharpening the basics .

thanks for the prompt answer.
As there is no CBSE school in my town, I gave him CBSE science and maths books from Schand publication. and I make sure that he reads everthing and solve every problem in the book.
now I am looking for additional material which will help him in clearing the concepts and train him for the hard work ahead.
regarding coaching , all i could understand so far is coaching is availble after appearing X exam.
please tell me if H.C. verma for physics and arihant for maths are to be used afeter X
