But most companies recruit ppl from AICTE approved colleges...
Amity has excellent infrasturcture ... the only thing i was bothered bout was the AICTE approval...
most ppl suggested against joinin it...

Hi all,
Does anyone here have an exact idea whether UGC approval
is enough or does an institute need to have AICTE approval
also for good placements...
From what iv heard, UGC is sufficient for a job in India..
However, problems are faced while applying for jobs abroad?
Is this true?..Coz I was considering joining Amity,
which has only UGC approval.....guys plz help....

Thanks a lot...i also have a chance of getting
admission in SP Jain and DJ Sanghvi in Mumbai...
so have to decide between these and Amity....
donno if il get into NIT nagpur with a state rank of 2099

AIR ranks really really bad...not worth mentionin...but AIR rank isnt
considered for admission anywhere except a few institutes...

I am eligible for Central Councelling- State Specific...can i get admission in CSE or Electronics in any of the NIT's...esp. NIT Nagpur?

But options for me are limited...there arent many
colleges that give admission on the basis of CBSE marks.
I have performed miserably in AIEEE (2099 state
rank in Maharashtra)....but i guess ill geta dmission in the good colleges under mumbai university
...but im still confused..have gotten mixed responses about Amity....
most are scared coz the AICTE issue

And there's always a chance of it being derecognized
by the UGC...most companies opt for candidates from
AICTE approved institutes...it would be a great risk joining Amity.
When it got derecognized in 2005, 300 students were
left stranded...but they were promised admission in a good AICTE approved institution nearby but didnt
get it as promised. As far as Im concerned, I have
decided against joining it, even though theyre giving
100 % scholarship...

Sry, i dont have much info about biotech..but ya
amity's good for it...however im scared as its not
approved by AICTE...it got derecognised in 2005 as
they were conducting courses wi=hich were not
aapproved by AICTE...there is even a court case
pending against Amity...really confused now...AICTE
approval is necessary if 1 wants to pursue a course
abroad further..
N another thing i heard about their nearly 100 % placements is that they bar a few of the students
from on campus placements if the CGPA is below 6.5
So at this stage, im really confused..donno whether i should apply or no...incase anyone gets more info, please post it here
