When 2 bodies move uniformly towards each other, the distance between decreases by 6 m/s.
If both bodies move in the same direction with the same speeds, the distance between increases by 4 m/s. Then the speeds of 2 bodies are....

this a problem of RELATIVE VELOCITY
when they move towards each other then
v1 +v2=6m/s.......1

and when they move away then
v1-v2=4m/s.........2

solving the two u get v1=5m/s and v2=1m/s
