guyz, i am an iit/aieee 2008 aspirant tryin without any coaching/guidance....my chem and maths is good enuff but my physix is terrible.......i cant get thru even the first half of h C verma......especially in mechanics and electricity......i managed heat and modern physix.......i can hardly solve the first 40-50% of the sums then i dont know what to do ........ and the problem is worse cuz i know the theory and concepts yet i am not able to solve.......WHAT SHOULD I DO ?? i am really confused.......should i get a new physix book ? like dc pandey or sl gupta or something.....(KEEPING IN MIND I HAVE NO ONE TO TEACH ME......IT SHUD BE SUCH THAT I READ UNDERSTAND AND SOLVE)......also......i primararily wanna score good in AIEEE becuz i know my potential is limited......(this is not underestimating but Estimating urself)
Please Reply Soon......What is solution to my probs (read bold stuff if u lack time)

nunoxic, look here i am an aspirant for iit-jee 2009..... its only some three months since my coaching began...... u believe u have the potential than go for it....
u say dat your problem is mainly in physics..... than i recommend u one book of D.C. Pandey- Mechanics Vol.1 and Vol 2. For he has given much solved problems and tell u dat it made my kinematics sum solving basics solid..... its a good book even telling us the details of how to approach a sum.... i recommend u dat....

but is that book something that one can do without any guidance ?? as in......without someone teaching u the concepts ? selfstudy type ?

ya u can say so.... look i was not able to understand well in my coaching classes.... so i just read this book.....this is my personal experience.....and i understood all the sums....solved and than try the exercise of H.C. Verma...

look i also could not do the sums of REST AND MOTION KINEMATICS directly..... but than when i got the concept of how to do the sums... i tried the sums and they seemed not much tough to me.... the only thing is dat u must read it properly...

hey nunoxic if u have problems doinf HC verma , i recomend u the follwing book, PERCEPTIVE PHYSICS (vol1&2) by er prabhakar rao(vishal publishers ) it has theory comparabale to resnick& halliday,problems likeHC VERMA . believe me i have seen many ppl having problems doing hc verma,but when read this book their was a hell lot improvement in their physics!!

Guyz,
Resnick Halliday vs. D C Pandey ? Which one to take ? (i dont mind spending extra 400 bux for resnick since it will cover entire portion as against Pandey which covers only Mech)

first refer NCERT.. its a very good book
then u may refer others suggested here..
there is a solution book also of HCV which i dont recommend unless u use it very carefully.. look at solutions only in the extreme cases.

hey nunoxic , look yaar... u know na that u have potential.........see. when i started doing that book(hcv) i too came up with same prob. yaar dekho, when ur qns. didn't cameup then loook at the answer of that qn. . then think that how u can get that answer...while thinking u will came across 1000s of ideas ........believe me it will help u surely surely & surely................ if u wanna score smthing then u hv to study hcverma.....if answers nnabhi bhi nahi nikalte to main hun na
