The main cause for induction is the change in the magnetic flux linked with the two substances due to movment of the substance.Due to this there is a attractive or repulsion force current set up in the substances.

FIRST I EXPLAIN U WT IS ELECTROMAGNETIC INDUCTION? THE PHENOMENON OF PRODUCTION OF EMF IN THE CONDUCTOR OR COIL BY RELATIVE MOTION BETWEEN CONDUCTOR AND MAGNET IS CALLED ELECTROMAGNETIC INDUCTION. NOW THE CAUSE BEHIND IT IS: WHEN THERE IS RELETIVE MOTION BETWEEN CONDUCTOR (OR COIL) AND MAGNET, THE MAGNTIC FLUX PASSING THROUGH THE CONDUCTOR IS CHANGED DUE TO WHICH INDUCED EMF IS PRODUCED IN THE CONDUCTOR AND INDUCED CURRENT FLOWS IN THE CONDUCTOR. IF U UNDERSTAND THEN RATE ME THANKS

HI SMA, in emi emf is induced in the circuit when there is change of magnetic flux through it. The real cause of this is the fact that such changing flux produces rotating electric field in the space.

The cause is change in magnetic flux by movement of conductor known as lenz rule.

Hey sanat_sachar I think that U are a bit of incomplete there and rather wrong. Lenz law gives the statement about the direction of induced emf. It states that "The direction os the emf is such that it opposes the cause of producing it".

Now sma_496 the answer to Ur question is very short and easy to understand.
The emf is produced in a coil mainly and mainly due to change in the current linked with the coil.It can be due to following.
1)Motion of conductor in a uniform magnetic field.
2)Placing the conductor in the non uniform magnetic field.
3)Rotating the conductor in a uniform magnetic field(Currents produced are called eddy currents)
These are the chief causes of change in emf DUE TO CURRENT ONLY.
