i have been alloted process engineering with mba in the iit-r.my score in bits is 326, for which i may get mechanical at pilani in the second list.which one should i opt for?and i am also interested in doing my mba from iim, so does my course at iit help? or the mba degree of iit enough to get high packages? , imean comparable to those of the iim's. please help!rating for sure.

IIT-R (Process Engg) is superior to BITS-P Mech Engg. I am likely to get Mech at BITS-P with a score of 333. But I wd prefer Process Engg.

U will get a decent job for sure.....may be around 10-12 lakhs per annum ( if u were to pass out now). But this wouldnt even come close to a job that u wd get after IIM/XLRI.
This course will have its advantages & shortcomings. The adv is if u hv already studied a bit of MBA thing, u will do better while studying the same/similar subjects at the IIM. Maybe u wd be among the toppers there. With yr high CGPA there & a degree from IIT u may get an interview call from the day 0 Companies. Try to collect many certificates for extra-curriculars/leadership related activities while at IIT-R. The disadv are : (1) 50 km away from the main Campus..... fewer avenues to participate in extra-curriculars (2)since u wd ve done an MBA already, the IIMs will ask u this question y r u doing it again. prepare a convincing answer for that. (3) a new course at IIT-R. But on the whole, acc to me, much more plus than minus. Take this course & do well. Yr life is made.
