WHY DO PPL THINK DAT BITS Pilani Goa campus IS NOT DAT GUD??? DAT EVEN NE NIT IS BETTER ?? All just bcoz its new!!! Well i'm not a BITSian but i've done quite a research - talkin 2 iit guyz & others , readin articles , forums..... What makes a gud engg. college??The student intake, Faculty , brand value, facilities , placements et al.... 1) Its not Bits goa but Bits Pilani -goa campus , the degree is d same ... 2) All d students r admitted thru dat same BITSAT 3)The faculty is almost d same (bits faculty is comp. 2 d iits) 4)Big companies like SUN MICROSYSTEMS , Solaris etc. organise seminars&workshops. Even BARC was dere. 5)The facilties r world class ... check bits360.com for dis 6) BITS P Goa won 2nd prize in IMAGINE CUP held in south korea 7) It is havin collabrn. widÃÂ NUS Singapore( 1 of d best engg. colls. in d world) So my pt. is dat BITSp GOA has a GR8888888 future.... BY d time u pass out (after 4/5 yrs.) it'll hav amazin placements (sum big hyped labs r also comin up dere) So BITS P GOA shud not b neglected & bad mouthed abt widout checkin d facts....... | |

I've also asked quite a lotta IITians and BITSians.....and wat Karan has typed is true......everypoint of it......(although the part about goa overtaking pilani is a bit controversial)....also, BITS Hyd coming up next year is gonna be a strong competitor for Goa as well as pilani becuz its location is just tooo good......its right in between the HyTec City (silicon valley of india)...lets just wait and watch what happens

well i guess apprehensions r cause
-its new not yet placements
-its in goa -place for drugs,alcohol and AIDS
-the cutoff scores of goa r lower so ppl of goa bits scored a lil less than of pilani
2nd point i mean not tp the studs in bits but the environment in goa
and parents dont wnna send their childrent their as in these years they may take soe decision under the influence of their hormones and not usin their brains
but i love goooa and bits tooo
cheers!!
lets be patient for 10 yrs or so then it will be established

according to bold truth...degree matters.. nahi goa ki chamak-damak ..naa its beutiful location..naa hyped hitec labs ..or naa hi its wonderful weather...how can bits goa compete its father bits pilani over 60 yrs old cllge of esteemed reputation.. no doubt bits goa haz value vecoz of bit pilani degree it haz got.. but acc. 2 me bits hyderabad wd go ahead in a shorter time.. bits goa can't be even compared with any of top 10 nit's ..now-a -dayz ,point to mention.. i don't digest why u ask and discuss so silly ques.. goa haz three main disadvantages..[bcoz of which parents don't give it a first choice] 1. goa is far away in remote area ,no educational background ..only tourist destination..oonly masti.. 2. goa is new college ..why people won't prefer nits and other well-established institutions. i hope iv made it clear no doubts pref. order for every aspect shud be ur priority in branch and then gud degree wala cllge say..:- iit>bits pilani>dce/nsit>top 5 nits>iiit's>other gud reputed govt. or private cllges under aieee>bits goa maine itna sab isliye likha kyunki time paas karna tha or aur tum sabko sahi raha dekhana than.. rest everything is ur wish.. if u got any help ,rate me..

campus life is totally different dude..it dosent have all these things....itzz the way u ppl think ..and u r rong ....it will be proved in few days..just wait and watch
NIT surathkal also has beahces
kanpur also doesnt hav educational background---but IIT K is thr
Pilani also dint have it but BITS Pilani rocks
guwahati..... also doeant hav.....
pilani is a desert dude..still BITS Pilani rocks.... dont ssee the location.... see the college

"GOA IS A REMOTE PLACE" ????? Man GOA has an intl. airport , dat too 10 km. away frm d campus.....it is better connected 2 d big cities dan surathkal , trichy etc...... Plus Goa is an industrialised state.....

itzz not 10 kms frm campus
it is hardly 5 kms.....
all parents think that thr children will go astray in goa
ill tell u..... those ppl who want to smoke can smoke in IIT kanpur campus also rite now im in IIT K.....i know this HALL 1 stinks..whole day isee guys smoking
in BITS smoking is not allowed
those ppl who want to drink can do that in any college it is available evrywhr...in goa it is cheap thats it........
if u think problem of gals will be thr then again u r rong......

I have got BITS - Goa mechanical n NIT Trichy EEE n expecting a better subject at Goa in future iterations. A bit confused! Any suggestions on where I should go?
