Suppose we are given a cubic equation in x. How do we find that whether this equation will have roots? Does this have some other method other than finding all 3 values of x, Just like in case of quadratic we find by whether D>0 or D<0? Please reply. Rates assured.

Descartes rule only tells the number of +ve or -ve roots of an equation on the basis of change of signs. It does not tell whether an equatiion has real roots or not?

sorry dude................descartes rule tells us no. of +ve and -ve REAL roots...................so, total no. of real root = (no. of +ve real roots )+(no. of -ve real roots).....................
and by the way..........we can't describe imaginary root as positive or negative..............
got it!!!
