As suggested, Basavaraju and Ghosh's "mecahnics and thermodynamics" is good. For still better results (in fact, the best results) as far as this chapter is concerned, follow WAVES AND THERMODYNAMICS book of the 'physics galaxy' series written by Ashish Arora............U'LL DEFINITELY FEEL TOO BETTER                                                                    kghedriu
