In wurtz reaction only even number carbon containing alkanes can be prepared
|

It should be only (ii) becoz isme hi even no of carbon atoms hain bas. (iv) nahi hona chahiye becoz usme the no of carbons is 7 and from wurtz reaction, we can prepare only those alkanes which have even no of carbon atoms.

but odd can be made..(impure).....real problem is 3 degree alkyls...they tend to form alkenes by disproportionation...

pleaseeeeeeeee helpppppppp everybody is giving different answer. i think that a symmetrical structure is necessary also and that is not in (ii)

it is possible because when we use two different alkanesthen cross product will be the major one .......so iv may be correct.....

Hey the answer is that only (ii) can be prepared by wurtz reaction as it has even number of atoms and also it is symmetric. So I think u got the answer!
