the answer to your query lies in the the preparation of your +1 itself..

see if u have prepared the portion of +1 upto your satisfaction.. then there is no need to worry about.. just by writing formulae and important concepts for a particular topic .. thats enough..........

for exmaple.,.......

suppose that u are covering the topic of say newtons laws.. then in that case while going across the theory.. u shud write the important concepts and formulae on a seperate sheet... then also dont forget to mention that this step was done in order to obtain this step by doing so and so operation... as a matter of fact.. in 12th when u will come across the across the derivations of finding the magnetic field due to straight conductor ... or a ring .. then in all the cases. u have to take under consideration the line element .. then put the values of sin or cos.. or may be in some cases tan... adn then intergrate..

so try ot write such thumbrules...

then comes the question of revision ..so for that.. the best thing is taking test .. mock tests.. there are many available on the internet freely....... so in this way ..it will help u to revise...

and sorry for writing such a long answer .....cud not help writing

hi studyid....good thread!

i'm still confused about which sources are the best to follow...should we follow some good books like Resnick Halliday Irodov etc....or should we follow some good institute material like the Locus material....what would be a better option?

Ridhima :

If there is any other doubt .. u can post it here... i will surely look at it..and try to help u out..........

skyhigh_7 :

See one year is more than enough for preparing for jee.. its not the one year wasted by you that counts.. its the one year worked hard by u..and.... that matters....the most... so there is no substitute to hard work..........

and regarding the tmh.. then both the exercises as well as the the solved sums are nice.. u can surely go for solving both.. but one thing i would like to say that u must first b thorough with the ncert and ml khanna... .. and this will help u to do tmh much better...

Richa :

About the sources...

Firstly the books :

physics :

hcv. shud b the priority.. and also its revision is important..
then resnick halliday walker shud b used as a reference.. the problems in rhw are very conceptual.. so it is recommended to practise them if possible.......... then irodov is also a good book for reinforcing the concepts.. but there are certain topics which needed to b deleted cause they are not in the jee syallabus....

mathematics :
ml khanna .. then rd sharma.. a. das gupta... there are may other general book like hall and knight for algbra and i.a.maron for calculus.. then arihant books are more than enough.

for chemistry :
i personally know only two books.. one is op agarwal and the other is p. bahadur... also arihant books.....

about the locus material then... it is the best material for first time reading and also for revision... it shud ideally b also taken in to consideration while there is any doubt to u in some particular topic.

if there is anyone here who is not having locus material then i have myself uploaded them at rapidshare .. if anyone wants them u can nudge me.. i will do that for u..

hello there ganesha.... yeah u are right that peter sykes is a very nice book to understnad the mechanism.. and the link u gave is not working..

neverthless.. i have myself uploaded the book. the link is here :

http://rapidshare.com/files/101474265/Peter_Sykes.rar

now .. about the books .. then u need not purchase the tmh unless and until u yourself want it... also a. das gupta is a nice book.. ..

then about the jee 2009..its not yet confirmed .. whether it will be subjective or objective....... may be anything can b there...

it cant b predicted...

djdyan :

u shud solve ml khanna ... that will reinforce ur concepts...and about the order : then...

firstly ncert and ml khanna or rd sharma....
then tmh.. or a. das gupta

see.. u are following the coaching notes... okay.. but dont go for the theory in them.. unless if it is too nice....

and ya .. u need to b corrected... u need to buy the books...they are a very essential part for the preparation of jee and aieee..

about time management... then it is up to u.. because it is u who has to study .. and so u need to make a time table for urself...

considering your time for schools, tutions or coachings.. then sports and other things.. u need to see where u are getting the maximum time for studying... also decide which time is suitable for u to study.. morning .. late nights..evenings or afternoons. and frame your time table for that time period..
