why does hydrogen nucleus takes 10^9 years to fuse with another hydrogen nucleus when compared with other like silicon or oxygen which nearly take few days to combine??

yaar.....do you know that in the core of the sun...... every second billions of hydrogen nucleus combine to form a helium.nucleus.............what we call as nuclear fusion.......
the context your talking about is more to do with the environment and external forces than reaction itself.........
hope that helps.....

areeeee leo i have read that the hydrogen atom which have completed there fusion to form helium have started there reaction to form helium nearly 10^9 years ago
that billion of nucleus have started to become helium before formation of earth

For the fusion to take place the nucleus has to come very close.. Since the H atom is very small there will be greater nuclear repulsion.. We need more KE to overcome that repulsion... I think thats why it's vary hard for nuclear fusion of H atom........
