Convert : 1-chloropropane to 1-bromopropane I am not sure that this is right or not. plz tell me if it is right otherwise give the right answer. Na 1-chloropropane -------------------------> Propene HBr / With Peroxide Propene -----------------------> 1-bromopropane

arey budd u cn do it in a much simpler way use finkelstein reaction that is one alkyl halide cn be converted into another alkyl halide wid same numbr of carbon atoms in d presence of d halide aslt in acetone medium erfer ncert book clas12, pg 289

first treat it wlith alcoholic KOH.Alkene is formed and then treat the alkene with HBr
|

its ALCOHOLIC KOH!
@kuldud isn't finkelstein reaction only for replacing any halogen by IODIDE! we can replace any halogen by iodide using finkelstein or fluoride using swarts reaction...but i don't think that there is any reaction in which Br can replace Cl!

The electronegativity series is I>Br>Cl>F. So it is not possible to replace Br with Cl. So the original answer (Dehydrohalogenation and convert alkene to alky halide) is the correct answer. Rate me
