Is it possible to get a high rank in iit jee 2009 without coaching? i JOINED LOCAL TUITIONS FOR PHY,CHEM AND MATHS,BUT Flunked royally as I never followed their schedule/course material.Can I salvage anything from this year?

sure y not... let me tell u one story abt my friend ..he was with me in masters he flunked in masters and next year he cleared that exam and right nw he is university of wisconcin madison us for his phd program... he has 25 research publications by his name..

see, coaching is sth which can guide u...which can give u support, can solve ur doubts, but ultimately its u and only u who has to perform on D-day...so dnt think that those who go to coaching insti , they only clear JEE.... JEE is jst about the concepts nd thr applications, within a difinte time-duration...and for this what is needed is speed+accuracy...which can be achievd by practicing as much as u can... even if u r determined enuf frm now onwards... u can achieve... but since u have lagged frm othrs , by an year...u have to work hard for that.... gud luck

yes, why not... my family friend attended coaching only for maths. he did physics and chemistry by his own. and he got AIR-2 in JEE.

yes why not .you have to just adjust your time table according to your comforability.try to finish whole course during your summer holidays.and solve as many problem as you can and list out the problem in which you are facing problem and just ask to us ie goiit.according to me coachings are only for gudance and for motivation.there you also spend 4-5hrs for studies and that much time you can put for self study by studying good books so dont's dishartened and put your best effort in securing good rank in iitjee.

no doubt abt it
bt do get some really good books for your aid -( post a ques regarding books if you need advice on tht)
or else, you may get a correspondence course as well ( I would suggest one from Locus - www.locuseducation.org )
as mentioned abv, 'ultimately its u n only u' - b honest wid urself

coaching is not essential, but do join a test series
|

ya dear u can achive high rank in iit-jee, aieee or any other compatatiive exam if u have self confidence inside u which plays a vital role ..
u know dear who they got high rank in iit with coaching and do coaching can also achive good rank without coaching .. becoz no coaching institute have a magic mantra to get good rank in iit..
it is the person only who is responsible for his achivement..
so, do prep. without coaching wid ur high self confidence...i u wiish..
