Hey guys, u must have heard that we failed to qualify in the olympics hockey.........quite a set-back for all........so do u think Hockey gets the attention it shud get being our national game??

if cricjet is being given budgets of 100s of crores we need to focus more on other sports...especially on our national game!

exactly wat i wanted to say................cricket is not our national game but there is so much hype abt it...............i feel sry for our hockey players.........i mean c'mon how many actually know who our hockey captain is!!

Should we care? The game is commercially dead worldwide and commercial efforts like PHL has turned out into a joke. Hockey just isn't an entertaining sport. Now, name cricket as our national game and dump hockey. There is no reason is backing a sport with no audience and financial. The only reason India still backs hockey is that, hockey is one of the very few realistic chances for us to get an olympic medal.
As for India not qualifying, two morons are responsible. One is Mr. Gill. He ruined the team from top ten material to top twenty stuff, saying that he is gonna make them champions. Indian hockey was doomed when he showed the doors for veterans and brought in novices. That retarded security-guy shooting our once best striker,Sandeep Singh on a train didn't help either. Same for the "once best penalty-corner taker in the world", Jugraj Singh meeting a car-accident.
Carvalho shouldn't have quit, he actually did a great job since he took over. The problem is, he took over too late. If it was not for him, we'd have drawn 1-1 against Mexico last week.

PEOPLE LIKE GILL HAVE RUINED OUR SPORT BECAUSE WE'VE LET HIM......... 4get anywhere else its eveident here at GOIIT...... the guy who was blabbering above is a gunner fan ( cesc fabregas rit)... we have ronaldo , gerrard as our dP,,,,the may be 1 or 2 even sachin..............but how many of us have viren rasquinha or jugraj singh or dhanraj pillay in our profile...............none ditch 0........ its because we have to go through qualification now in hockey hamari lag gayi......... cricket is an overarted over hyped sport which takes podium 1-10 place in our country........makes me sick literraly....... so lets show sum support instead of talking shit like dump hockey..... think bfore you speak......we've got to decide what is more important 4 us..... a medal at the olympics or a new cricket brand ambassador endorsing boot polish or chavanprash...... peace

this is the state every other sport in india....no other sport is given recognition except cricket.most of u must have heard abt abt arman ebrahim a great prospect in the world of racing from india.due to lack of funds he is unable to test drive.isnt that pathetic...we see people spending 6 crores on one cricketer but they are unable to give 2 crores for him to test drive..except mr mallya no other industrialist is showing any kind of interest in other sports..there was also another report on a news channel which showed sports people employed with the railways selling parking tickets and these people have represented the nation in the asian games in various sports.shooters dont have funds to import ammunition and the list goes on.these are the ones which have come on tv there would so many other instances like these. no wonder a country of population 1 billion is not able to produce a gold medal in the olympics.!!!!!
lets pump in some money other sports also....then the results will follow
if the same continues u can expect more results like these in every other sport.

I STRONGLY AGREE WITH shevchenko AND I THINK OUR FELLOWS IN OTHER SPORTS SHOULD TRY TO PUT UP A DECENT PERFORMANCE IN THE COMING TOURNAMENTS TO MATCH THE STANDARDS WHICH IS GOOD ENOUGH TO WIN THEM THEIR REQUIRED FINANCES FROM ALL POSSIBLE SECTORS

but this is pathetic...............why are people being so blind!! first of all hockey players arent given support and then they throw eggs at them for losing in the matches......... i thought after Chak De, hockey wud have earned respect but that is not so, i guess!!
