You can never solve a problem on the level on which it was created.
When you are courting a nice girl an hour seems like a second. When you sit on a red-hot cinder a second seems like an hour. That's relativity
Purpose of solving a problem is not simply to get the answer(the answer is only an evidence) but to develop your thinking ability |

Aq. KOH acts as a nucleophile, means OH- in aq KOH acts as nucleophile.
And if its Alc KOH, then the OH- acts as a base.

see aqeous KOH is used to generate nucleophilic OH- and thus used mainly in preparation of alcohols !!!!!it becomes K+ and OH- in aqeous medium!! whereas in the case of alcohlic KOH OH- is not generated due to presence of non polar medium and thus KOH acts as a strong base in abstracting H+ and thus causes elimination understood??? rate if useful!!!!

used as nucleophile releasing substance during substitution reaction this is because in aqueous solution, the weak k+ and OH- bond is broken OH- being a strong reducing agent reduces the given substance
