In the Law of mass action why the rate of reaction become s propotional to the product molar concentrations RAISED TO THE POWER OF THEIR STROECHIOMETRIC COEFFICIENTS . of the reactants.Plz plz explain the underlined part.

it is purely experimental...

it depends on chemical kinetics

RATE ME

hai its not merelyxperimental....i can tell it theoretically'''''

c 4 a chem reac 2 tac place the the reactants hav 2 collide...effectively.... so more the effectivecollisions faster the reac....nd hence u hav the rate....bt...suppose..u hav 2 form A2B with A nd B.....2As nd 1B hav 2 collide..so rte is prop. to
[A][A][B]...or u may say... [A]square multilied by [B]....
similarly if u need 2 form..A3B/..... then...[A][A][A][B]

hope u got it....nd now wer is my salute!!!!!!!!!

Consider the reversible reaction:

                                        A + 2B == 3C + 4D
                               ( == indicates reversible reaction)

Acc. to the LAW OF MASS ACTION, the rate of forward reaction is proportional to the product of the molar conccentrations of the reactants
therefore,
                Rf  [A] [B] [B]
          i.e. Rf  [A] [B]2

Similarly, the rate of backward reaction is proportional to the products of the molar concentrations of the products
therefore,
              Rb  [C] [C] [C] [D] [D] [D] [D]
              Rb  [C]3 [D]4

Thus,we see that the rate of reaction is proportional to the product of the molar conc. raised to the power of their stoichiometric coefficients.

plz, rate if it helps.......
