HI EVERYONE, do u think our culture is maintained. Our country is ruled by many rulers they had respect our cultureeven the britishers had downed their heads for our culture.so great our culture is.people were peaceful and women were greately respected for their culture. BUT Today where do we see our culture being still alive. The only answer is almost nowhere.Today the other country people are intrested in our culture and cultural activities but our people are intrested in their culture and their activities.its a truth that we can see a truely TRADITIONAL WOMEN occassionally and as one among the lakh. Our culture is totally ruined.our peoples intrest over other culture is the main cause A Sanskrit saying............. 'SWADHARMO SUGUNAH PARADHARM BHAYANAKAH' Fallowing our own path is good and right way but fallowing others path is DANGEROUS. ITS A PLEA FOR ALL THE VISITORS TO PROMOTE AND PROTECT OUR CULTURE TO THE LEVEL BEST

And what, my dear friend, do you define as 'Indian Culture'?
"Today the other country people are intrested in our culture and cultural activities but our people are intrested in their culture and their activities."
Why should only people from other countries be interested in what you see as Indian Culture? Other countries and other people are not useless pieces of crap for God's sake. Intelligence, goodness and civilisation are not the prerogatives of Indian Culture. We have a lesson or two to learn from other countries and other 'cultures'. Please don't behave like a hopeless chauvinist. |

| The world is becoming an increasingly homogenized place. It's an increasingly Americanized world - and that's how it is going to stay as long as America calls the shots. The day China, or any other countryfor that matter, takes over, the world will change its ways to follow the leader. That's human nature and no amount of concern for one's 'culture' can reverse the trend. Thinking of culture as something static and unchangeable is what makes people so concerned about their culture. Culture is always in a state of flux; some changes might be good, others might be bad. A society learns with time what's good and what's bad. But the kind of utopian conception of Indian Culture that the author of the article espouses only serves to show her ignorance of the glaring shortcomings of the nation's cultural heritage. |
