d product is p-nitroso,N,N-dimethyl aniline:
@computer001 ur picture is not clear.
since it is tertiary amine it does not undergo diazodisation.

@varshavallig: nitrosation happens only in the presence of a strong acid because then only will an NO+ ion be formed.
so i think your answer is wrong.

but if there was a strong acid like H2SO4, then your answer is right coz of the powerful +R grp N-(CH3)2 present, which is the other necessary condition for nitrosation :)

yes, but note in that link you gave me, there is the presence of HCl in the reactions..
without that HCl , the reaction wont take place as i've mentioned in my above post :)

HNO2 is also an acid ..... it provides H+ .........
