Q
 A thin spherical shell of radius R is set into the rotation abt its axis at an angular speed   .This rotating  wheel is now placed on a rough surface (horizontal) wid its axis horizontal. Because of friction at the contact , thw wheel  accl  forward & its rotation .declerateas  till the wheel starts pure rolling on the surface .Find the linear speed of  the wheel after it starts pure rolling?????

 elastiboysai is right ...here's the soln,
since the torque abt pt of contact is zero ang momentum is conserved abt tht pt
initial  ang momentum=2/3mr2
final ang momentum=5/3mr2'
.`. ' = 2/5
or linear speed v=2/5 r

Abt bottommost point net torque is zero
so u can conserve angular momentum abt lowermost point.
suppose inital angular veloc is
and final angular veloc is 0
I=I 0 +mrv
and once pure rollin starts v=r 0
plug in for I and solve
2/3mr^2=5/3mr^20
0=2/5
so v=2/50r
