the extreme case is the light ray falls on 1 extreme end and the 2nd reflection takes place @ other extreme

OH yes that was what my diagram was... lol i didnt realise it's 45 degrees

Since any ray parallel to principal ray will pass through the focus, look for a possible configuration which will need minimum mirror length and the ray will touch the mirror again on passing through focus.. computer's diagram is right :) i just didnt think carefully wt the angle was :)
