Distillation is based on the BP of the compounds.More volatile compounds are distilled out first.

So the one having least boiling point will be distilled out first.

So (a) Liquid H2 will be the answer.

ya H2 has least BP due to least molecular wt and hence less vander waal force of attraction and hemce most volatile

yeah well H2 is the answer...

boiling point depends on the forces of interaction between two molecules of the liquid. since the molecules here dont have net charge, we can assume that the only forces acting in between the molecules is vanderwaals forces of attraction.

we know that vanderwaals forces of attraction is more for larger surface area. the one with the least surface area has least molecular interaction, least boiling point and hence is distilled first.

evidently H2 has the least surface area . so H2 is distilled first...

Ratings do not necessarily signify that someone is good, or bad. I'm here to learn and help others learn, and a person unlocking the mysteries with the help of my solution, to a nagging problem, means more pleasure to me than ratings can ever make me feel.
