Sir,
I was considered as a bright student in my academic life uptill now(I know that it's no parameter to judge 1's knowledge)......I managed my studies on my own till 10th wid success(1st rank always) & joined coaching for first time in 11th to prepare for the gr8 IITJEE.........

I gave iit jee this time around and expecting 150 marks.I very well know that this score can not fetch me top ranks(if any)......
So, I have decided to take drop and prepare for jee 09......although I haven't told my parents abt it.......

I wasted whole of my 2 yrs-I spent only 30 mins for study on an average / day and strongly repent now.....but I don't want to go to any college except the IIT's....

my parents had great hopes from me & now I have a sense of guilt....they kept telling me the whole yr to conc but I didn't.......
I cannot put any more burden on them by attending classroom coaching or any other program...

I want to ask that is my decision right? will I be able to cope wid the studies on my own?.....though I have a lot of gud buks but they were just like a showcase previously......

So, shud I take drop? or accept it as my fate and go to any college by giving aieee or pet?........

in this decision i dont think anyone can help u
it is ur own decision

if u think u can take a drop and then score well next year, then go ahead

but then once the decision is taken it is taken
after that u shud not repent for ur decisions

i ll tell u such decisions are hard to make

u can try one more thing
u can take admission into some coll this year and then pursue both, ur first year as well as ur IIT studies

that way u ll not loose ur year also
but then, in doin so u will have to put in a lot of hard work
it wud literally double up
so u need to be mentally quite strong to bear it all

thats all i can say, FINAL DECISION IS URS

ALL THE BEST

@dream, if I take admission into sum college and simultaneously prepare for iit

jee, don't u think that it wud b the same as managing skul studies(boards etc..)

& jee prep...bcoz this too was 1 of the major cause of my downfall.....

well
the major difficulty of ur downfall was not this but it was that u had a little lesser passion for IIT
this i conclude on the basis that u studied only for half hour as u said

just manage time, have that desperation, that determination
and well of course the focus to succeed...........the only aim shud be to crack JEE as it wud be ur last attempt at it

i told u that JEE is not only studies but also mental battle
it drains one if he is not mentally prepared for it

this is what i feel
and i am planning to do (not decided yet)
some might agree with it , some might not
so ur decision
