YES YOU SHOULD REFER TO UR BOOKS.

BUT ANY WAY  THE ANSWER IS

                        (a+b)^2=a^2+b^2+2ab

the solution is:

(a+b)(a+b)

a(a+b)+b(a+b)

a2+ab+ab+b2

a2+2ab+b2

I've been witholding this discussion for a long time but now, i feel its become unpalatable!

To be frank, first of all i feel that the question is pointless bcos its a seventh or eighth standard identity asked in an iit forum  Shocked Shocked

To add to it, many people post their solutions as if they have crossed a big hurdle or something! Once a solution is posted, if you have an alternate and better solution than the others, only then should you post yours and also take care to see whether a solution has been posted before, dont just stand up and say "Hey i know the solution to this one, its very easy" and post your solution!

Ofc, people may differ in opinion and even try and pelt stones (or rather boinks) at me, but i feel this is one thing which is definitely pulling goiit down! Mr. Green Mr. Green

It is simply (a+b)^2 i.e a^2+b^2+2ab. ^ here denotes power.
