Question on sequences from BT


Find the sum of the following series ::


1+2(1+1/n)+3(1+1/n)^2..............................to n terms.

S1 = 1

S2 = 4

S3 = 1 + 8/3 + 16/3 = 27/3 = 9

S4 = 16

S5 = 25


Clearly , Sn = n^2

it is 1 + 2x + 3x^2 + ............. ( x = 1 + 1/n)


which is an AGP hence easily evaluated
