nw let me give all u guys a good solution of this problem...
let x= (a)(b) + (-b)(a) +(-a)(-b)
= a(b-b) + (-a)(-b)
= 0 + (-a)(-b)
also x=ab + (-b)(a-a)
= ab +0.
so ab = (-a)(-b)

this can be explained on the basis of iota(i) where i=(-1)1/2
(( -ve x -ve)4)1/4 =(i4)1/4 =11/4 = 1
hence resultant is positive.
