if u have done definite integrals u must have come across reduction formula of integral cos^4 x




put n=4 and solve

g(x+pi)=cos4tdt=cos4tdt+cos4tdt=g(x)+cos4tdt=g(x)+g(pi)



 


The most important step is f(x)dx=f(x)dx if p is the period of f(x).
