if density of gas at NTP is 1.3kg/m3 and velocity of sound in it is 330m/s.wat is the no. of degrees of freedom of gas molecule

(a)2            (b) 3   (c)4     (d)5

USE THE FORMULA

VELOCITY OF SOUND IN AIR

= ROOT OVER [(GAMMA  * PRESSURE) / DENSITY}

WHERE GAMMA = MOLAR SPECIFIC HEAT CAPACITY

AND

GAMMA = 1+2/f

where f is degree of freedom

yup use th formula

velocity of sound= x / P

FROM THIS U CAN GET THE VALUE OF GAMMA

AND =Cp / CV

AND CP - CV = R

then u can find out the degree of freedom

I think the ans is 5.Using the formula mentioned,

(330)2=(105)/1.3=1.4=1+2/ff=5

MAKING A MISTAKE IS HUMAN BUT REPEATING IT IS IDIOTIC.
