Nalorphene (c19H21NO3) similar to morphine, is used to combat withdrawl symptoms in narcotic users.Dose of nalorphene generally given is 1.5 mg.Calculate the mass of 1.5 x 10-3 m aqueous solution required for the above dose?

no of moles of nalorphene in 1Kg of water = 1.5 x 10^ -3

molar mass of nalorphene= 312kg mol^ -1

weight of nalorphene in 1.5 x 10^ -3 mol is = 1.5 x 10^ -3 x 312 = 0.468 g

total mass of solution is 1000.468 g

the solution required for 1.5 x 10^ -3 g of nalorphene is 1000.468/0.468 * 1.5 x 10^ -3 = 3.2 g

Remember Cedric. Remember, if the time should come when you have to make a choice between what is right and what is easy, remember what happened to a boy who was good, and kind, and brave, because he strayed across the path of Lord Voldemort. Remember Cedric Diggory.
