dont know abt electric field...bt yes....by adding suitable detergent in d solvent ,oil n water can b made miscible 2 sum extend........rate if useful ...thanks

i don't think by any chemical reactivity you can mix an oil and water.......because here there are many factors which count........example... surface energy..... and also their molecular and atomic behaviour is different .......... and the above is apprpriate for electric field also........ by creating an electric field you are actually forcing the molecules to remain miscible. but once the field is removed everything's back again......... same applies in a particle accelerator. in which you control the motion of an atom which is 1000times hotter than the sun..........
