there are only sixteen A.P.'s having 3,8,14 as three of its terms . Is this statement true?
I could not understand the solution [Problem Set 92, 2e]

The answer should be FALSE. Infinite number of A.P.s can be formed with 3, 8, 14 as any of its 3 terms.
