surely u will be able to do dat. da aieee councelling and admission procedure is very simple nd flexible. to be on da safer side u may contact da councilling board of aieee. u will get a contact id, ph.no. or something from their site, viz. http://ccb.nic.in/CCB2008/welcome.html
hope u find this info usefull. and abt bits i think dat u will easily make into bits pilani campus for mech easily, with 336 marks

in 2006 the cut offs for some branches in pilani was as below
chem.------319 civil---------304 mech-------336:-) eee--------362 cse-----368
but in goa campus, which is also a very good campus, da cut-offs were
chem.------303 mech-------315 eee--------333 cse-----341

for got to add dis...............
most probably, due to increase in intake of iit, da cut-off for bits may dip, mostly by abt 7-12 marks. so dont worry much wou will most probably make into bits pilani.
good luk

yes. surely u can do dat. actually i did dat. i attended a councelling for amrita institute (private, deemed) before aieee rslt was out.
when i learned dat i did well in aieee(ie,when rslts came.my air is 1910 and state 43), i just went and withdrew my admission. if a private college allows to withdraw, i can't think of any reason why da reputed and verymuch soughtafter nits don't allow dat.
