Why can't we name a folder as "CON" or "con"?

it's a microsoft bug..

not exactly.. mayb there is but no1 knows what the resson is..

An Indian discovered that nobody can create a FOLDER anywhere on the



computer  which can be named as "CON". This is something pretty



cool...and unbelievable... At Microsoft the whole Team, couldn't answer



why this happened!



TRY IT NOW ,IT WILL NOT CREATE " CON " FOLDER

For those of you using Windows, do the following:



1.) Open an empty notepad file

2.) Type  -  Bush hid the facts (without the quotes)



3.) Save it as whatever you want.



4.) Close it, and re-open it.





is it just a really weird bug? :-??

Open Microsoft Word and type

=rand (200, 99)





And then press ENTER

The time has changed and Operating System can also be fooled! But still, many people think that it is not possible to create a folder by name CON. Using the path of network drive, these special names can also be used as folder names! Here is how:

1. Goto DOS
   
    


2. Type MD \\.\C:\CON. The folder will be created. You can check it in Windows Explorer also, but you can’t access it
   
    


3. To delete the folder, type RD \\.\C:\CON
   
    

In short, use the network path syntax instead of absolute path syntax.
