2)forms will be available either online or any CBSE regional office..

Yeah, so that is like giving CBSE again. I think IIT should accept the marks, it is somewhat obvious.

Himanshu. Thank you for the reply. It really helped.
You dont have to write every subject. Just the one you want to improve. I'm dropping a year and prep for IIT and board. I think thats safe since if I'm preparing for IIT, its obvious I would get good marks in board exams as well.

And thanks to all who replied. But, I would be glad if someone could tell me where I can get the form online.
And, the CBSE helpline numbers aren't active now. So, anyone know to which number I should call ? I'm in Chennai zone.

Preparing for IIT does not garuntee good marks in boards. In rare cases people have failed boards and succeeded in IIT.
Firstly study in a manner keeping IIT the focus but AIEEE and other exams as back up. Secondly, you will need to spend a lot of extra time for purely CBSE.

I dont get it. I mean, IIT is tougher. So, by the time you get to that level of problem solving, the lower level problems should be easy.
And, some say IIT is based (to some extent) on CBSE. So, where's the problem arising ?
P.S: I think the "failing in board and getting IIT" is just bad luck or good luck. ;) You decide.

It is not like that. If you are not so much aware of the text till now probably you will end up with an okay rank at best in AIEEE, not IIT.
CBSE is totally different, the way they ask questions, the type of questions, definitions, theorems, derivations, the way to answer questions is different and very limited. You need to take guidance from your teachers or tutors to score well here.
IIT is totally different, it is conceptual and somewhat aptitude based too.
The way of studying will be like:
Concepts and depth knowldge and problem solving. This is like 80-90%.
Then doing the chapters from CBSE perspective. Another 10-15 or even 20%
Finally solving AIEEE, DCE etc question banks to get an idea. This is another 5-10%

Lemme ask you. Is the one year in front of me enough for JEE prep ? And, where can I get the improvement form online ?

You be frank you don't have too much time. Talking about just JEE prep, depending upon your apttitude, guidance, speed and rank you desire, the minimum number of hours you must put in is 2500-3000 hours including coaching. However for best performance of your caliber it is recommended to put at least 4000-6000 hours solely for JEE.
