Q. The lower end of a capillary of tube is immersed in Hg. The level of Hg in the tube is found to be 2 cm below the outer level. If the same tube is immersed in water, upto what height will the water rise in the capillary ?

where T is surface tension of liquid
d is density of liquid
r is radius of capillary and
@ is contact angle,
In this case only r is equall.
You can answer only if you know other quantities.

The formula for capillary rise is actually h = 2Scos@/rdg
