the above mentioned NITs r those where i may get IT related branches........

i want to knw wats d standing of NIT surat................not heard much abt it.......infact ppl say its faculty sucks

shud i prefer it above calicut (calicut is very far frm my home........else i hav no prbm)

bhopal is again now days not considered gud enuf (although  earlier it was given gud ranking)

also in recent rankings hamirpur n rourkela r consistently featured.......shud i go to these odd places

plz rank all these NITs and clear my doubt

NIT Surat is a decent NIT and must be ranked around 9-12th amongst NITs. Calicut is much better.

i think u shud prefer calicut over other NITs u hav mentioned.....it a has a really gud infrastructure and faculty....

if u hav to choose between hamirpur,rourkela and bhopal i wud suggest rourkela coz its quite high in ranking as compared to hamirpur and bhopal

If you feel Calicut is far from your home, then NIT/KKR must be your best bet, then NIT Bhopal/NIT Rourkela/Hamirpur/surat.

Both Bhopal and Calicut are good, though Bhopal may be a little better. AFAIK Raurkela comes after even KKR. Hamirpur is like the best in worst 7-8 NITs.

Roukela is certainly better than hamirpur, don't really knw how it compares with Surat.

Anyway, if Surat is your city then go for NIT Surat with CS instead of IT in a better NIT as staying at home will make you more comfortable.

 NIT SILCHAR 's   CS is gud.

NIT Silchar is crap and in bottom 5 NITs.

dear dear. I m from silchar. Assuming but not admitting, I can't crack JEE in 2009 or 2010, I would go merry go round if I get silchar NIT CS. Not all, but cs of silchar provides gud placement.

Do u know how many campus recruit in cs frm silchar ? Boys and gals r going every year abroad from here.

p.s. If I were a candidate this year I would hav said silchar NIT is worst so that u don't come here, and i get the seat. :D
