i would like to know more abt the courses 'Electronics and biomedical engineering' and 'Applied electronics and intrumentation' regarding the importance of these courses in the present and their future prospects..
also i heard that Applied electronics and instrumentation is a tough subject compared to the other electronics subjects..please tell me more abt this...it's very important for me to take a decision so as to which course is better..

sorry dude but don't have much idea. just that i would never take a bio subject bcoz i don't like it and i would avoid electronics as far as possible bcoz it is more semiconductors and stuff.

Biomedical engineering involves using electronics and computer systems to improve health care and health services to enhance the quality of human life. Graduates often work in multi-disciplinary teams with health professionals and medical specialists. They use their professional skills and knowledge in the systematic development of complex digital and analog electronic systems with particular emphasis on biomedical systems.
Biomedical engineering is a relatively new area of engineering that is expected to expand in the 21st Century. New devices, algorithms and systems will be developed that will improve clinical practice and health care and will impact positively on human lives such as in designing devices that are more 'human-friendly'. There is an increasing interest in how the sporting professions can make use of biomedical engineering.

Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, Applied Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, Instrumentation and Control Engineering etc are emerged as separate branches consequent to the need and importance of detailed study on the use of computers and other electronics equipments in measurements, instrumentation, real time control etc. for applications such as process industries, automated manufacturing, medical diagnosis, guidance and navigation. Most of the mechanical and optical instruments have been substituted by electronic equipments due to their advantages like low power consumption, accuracy, size, flexibility and high speed of operation. The advancements in this area has largely replaced direct human involvement in monitoring, measurement and control, particularly in hazardous and inaccessible environments.
The core contents of the above branches are more or less the same. The concept of electronic devices and circuits, analog and digital integrated circuits are introduced in the course. The principle of operation of various devices and transducers capable of sensing different physical parameters and signals are taught in this course. The working of circuits, instruments and equipments used for measurement, continuous monitoring, processing and recording of different types of signals form major part of the course. The application of computers and other digital systems for data acquisition, data communication, signal processing and distributed control are also included. Other contents are different types of process and their control, process instrumentation techniques, advances in intelligent systems for instrumentation and control etc.
Since Instrumentation Engineering discipline has been developed to replace direct human presence in monitoring and measurement, all major industries who have introduced automation in production and manufacture, employ instrumentation engineers for installation and maintenance of complex instruments, equipments and systems. The design and development of instrumentation and control systems of large plants are done by these engineers. Research establishments engaged in developing sophisticated instruments for navigation, flight control, automation etc. also recruit many Instrumentation Engineers.
Graduates in Instrumentation Engineering are selected by many IT companies dealing with design and development of hardware components for data acquisition and signal processing systems. The skills and knowledge they acquire equip them to be considered as software professionals also.

I am a non-bio man ( Had Statistics as my fourth subject )!!!!
Now as regards to electronics and instrumentation , I don't think that it is a very tough one !!
I am studying the ultimate - Electronics and telecommn.. and would advise u to study that . It's simply fascinating ( in whatever aspect u may speak of !! )
