Arey CITIBANK , London is a Practice School 2 Station of BITS.And it seems they did come for Placements too.
No boss we aren't fighting to prove our worth. I have been on this website for 2yrs + and I think I am helping my juniors by telling them about 1 college which I know a lot :BITS If you want to listen , then do , if not you can look away.

ekns- at present iit h may not be as good as bits pilani or goa but a few years down the line it will be.you can't compare iit roorkee to iit hyderabad as iit hyderabad is in an important city and surely will become very good as location matters a lot.................................so you can't say the placements in pilani are better than iit roorkee and hence bits will be better than the new iits..............remember the iit tag is more respected than the bits tag.....................anywways its for you to decide but all i can say is that you can't really say bits will be better than the new iits just because it is now!!!!!!! All the best................

Look , all I am saying is that you should talk to some seniors from both IITs and BITS and then decide. I have told you the BITS side , and why I think it'd be better.I am sure that there will be loadz of ppl who'd disagree.Thats OK and I respect their views. Anyways its up to you to decide. Best of Luck!

i too am faced with the same situation.. i have prepared hard for 3 yrs .....2 yrs already had prepared hard but mmessed it up...then again without ne coaching prepared too hard this time covered each n evrythng but still on the exam day i wasnt lucky at all...again did the same mistake....but the at last got iit but not gud rank.. so not getting a gud branch.. iit and bits arent being compared w.r.t the salaries offered or job oppurtunities both being more or less same..no one can one over the other in this aspect.. but its the sacrifice the hard earned iit tag that we got after so much hardwork day n night ..with our parents expecting so much from us...not bits cse but iit...they have sacrificed a lot for us.. now just going to bits wid a gud branch and pay package doesnt seem to fit..it is the end of their expecctations and sacrifice made just for us that is now mattering most.. i allways hoped for iit and never bits.. so now leaving it after devoting so much of our life for it is what is now bcoming the most important factor.. and to come in that fraction of aspirants all of them putting their very best they can is wat makes iit special ...and its not abt the salaries offered /companies visiting bits that is mattering.. its bcoming very difficlt to leave iits... plzz all of u guide us ..its a sincere request..

I am lucky to have parents who never pushed me about IITs.In fact when my own relatives argued against joining BITS(I had a 3600 rank in JEE 2006) , it was my mother who clearly told them to back off.
I fully understand your feelings.I too was never interested in BITS , mainly becuase I had no clue about BITS.its only after coming I realized why BITS is one of the best. i too was brain-washed into believing that there was nothing that came close to the IITs. Its sad that there is so much hype for 1 set of instis , while others(BITS , NITs etc) are all made to seem irrelevant. Look , the media plays the hype cuz it makes huge amount of money thru advertising. Frankly even this forum does the same thing(But I don't blame its creators)
All I can say is that as enlightened citizens , strive to find the truth.Uncover details about things which you know little about.

Don't get into IIT-H......
The best reason... you don't have seniors to guide you there... nothing more I need to say

thanx bits360.com for ur genrous advice.. as u said that u too thought like this :"I too was never interested in BITS , mainly becuase I had no clue about BITS.its only after coming I realized why BITS is one of the best. i too was brain-washed into believing that there was nothing that came close to the IITs." the same might b with me too... so i too might seem to b over obsessed with iits...just as u were

hey i am getting mechanical at IIT Bhubaneswar and MSc physics at pilani but am sure ill get mech at BITS goa in the coming iterations. I am confused as to what i should take as i would be getting the course of my choice (mechanical) in both IIT Bhubaneswar and BITS Goa. i need to know which institute will be better for me in the long run factoring in for the new IIT campus and the faculty reservation in the IITs
