The disk of the Milky Way galaxy is about 100000 light years in diameter (one light year is about 9.5 x 10^15 meters).

The stellar disk of the Milky Way galaxy is approximately 100,000 light years in diameter.


 


on a side note...if it were reduced to 130 km in diameter, the Solar System would be a mere 2 mm in width!!!
