Its really a tuf call....now i think my situation is bettr dan urs...I've got Mech. at IIT-H & EEE at BITS(hopefully accor. 2 BITS360)...Earlier i had decided dat i wud go fer IIT-H but after listinening frm BITS360 & THE_ONE Im really confused...Ive already prepared the draft fer BITS-P(of 42K) but not yet sent as im undecided..

got to bits pilani .. the main thing with iiit hyd is that the brand isnt that strong ... plus the avg pay package is also less cor computers ...

Amangem bhai ,Dev08 has got CSc in IIT-H & NOT IIIT-H...Plz suggest dev wat brnch he ll get as dont knw much abt myself how shud i suggest him??

avg package for computers is 7 lacs which by no means is less....
well quite a bias opinion btw when u compare b/w IIT/BITS branding is not a imp. factor but BITS/IIIT branding becomes imp??

ok .. so itz IIT nd u DO have a stronger brand than BITS no doubt ... bbut i still have to put to my woords al;though u do have the brand .. my advice still goes that u shud take bits ..
just one thing .. getting computer at 350 might be a dicy call considering the cutoffs havent falen much .. but u will get eee i think .. cs will be touch nd go
@ekns thanks for correcting me .
@adhikar ... FYI .. firstly ... the avg package at iiit hyd is 5.2 lakh .. at bits it is 7 .. i guess 1.8 lakh cn be neglected then right ?
@adhikar again ... who told u branding isnt important ?? it is very omportant .. but as it goes for everything ... so it does for branding .. it is only gud to a limit ! had he got cs at iit guwahati i wudnt have said him to take bits .. but new iit's arent worth bargaining ..honestly speaking luking at these yrs ranks and branch allotment ppl have done HORRENDOUS mistakes by chosing new iit's over existing ones ....
as for iiit is concerned yes it is a gud college no doubt .. infact the prof qualification nd stuff is very gud prebably better than iit ... but mind u when 2 equivalent colleges are being considered , brand matters .. nd bits has a better brand than IIIT no doubt ...
@adhikar once more .. dude get a hold on urself .. "bits brigade"?? we are nod paid ppl praising ppl abt our college .. i have been on this site months before i even wrote my entrances ... i went to bits leaving iit roorkee biotech ( mind u i chose it myself ... it wsnt by default that i got it .. had i not wanted it i wudnt have filled it ) ... i left iit after a lot of contemplation nd i wsnt a fool to do it .. one yr down the lline .. i have learnt to like my clg .. nd more importantly for this post have developed amore sensible attitude than idiots like u r holding towards iit .... yes IIT is the big thing in India .. but new stuff is just too much ..
honestly speaking ... stop being a git calling it a brigade .. u srsly lack experience ingiving addvice just being a big mouth on a forum nowhere els e... may i ask u where all u have made to ? ? i guess that answer wud suffice all i said against u ...
ps : on a more stern note although i never wanted to say this ... if by chance u land up in pilani .. ... just noe what will happen to u ..
@dev .. i forgot to say this ... congrats man for getting such ranks .. bt srsly ... comp cn be dicy at bits pilani .. eee u will get f sure nd that too is gud ( fyi better than comp at pilani ) iiit hyd is good too .. but ona comparitive study i wud rate bits higher

Amangem ,bro r u in Goa or pilani???I've my frnd Ashutosh Gupta at pilani(Mech. last yr), he told me dat EEE students of BITS r more In demand dan d CS ones..Is it true???Is EEE of BITS more famous dan its CS???Wats ur brnch brother???

@ekns .. brother i am in pilani .. i have eee here .. last yr my score ws 358 cudve got cs too but have always kinda never fancied the branch ...
i dnt now ashutosh .. but yes he is rightly saying .. eee students in pilani are better than the cs lot although top ranjers still prefer cs over eee .... but usually it is a mix .. like the bitsat topper in pilani has eee but then next few after him have cs.. main reason is the labs nd the faculty ... the eee deptt has as many as 11 professors ( i mean professor by post ) ... cs has i think 2-3 profs .. but cs still goes in fo high demands ... mainly placement .. nd along with it eee is much tougher ( we at the campus realise wttough for eee means .. sigh ! :) )

Have i ever said that BITS is bad....???
I myself intersted in bits(310) IIT rank 5998 didnt fill ISM DCE 791....
i am just saying that IIT HYd is a gud option??
BITS BRIGADE yes i am wrong here sorry for it but have u seen any IITian/IIITian defending their college....
Some of the BITsians are the best of my friends(i am a dropper) so just take a chill pilll man no need to give warnings yaar :)
