KIIT= Krishna...
Kalinga is different. AFAIK SRM is probably better, maybe significantly, especially in placements and for BT.

PLACEMENT 2008 : 1460 JOBS FOR KIITIANS Admission to KIIT has become a gateway to bright careers in blue chip companies, going by the campus placement record of 2008 passing out batch of its various courses. Total 1460 KIITians of this batch belonging to different academic programmes of KIIT Group of Institutions have been placed, which is near cent percent achievement. An incredible 130 companies participated in the campus recruitment programme.
Growing Corporate Confidence This year as many as 20 new companies were added to the list of companies that visit KIIT for campus placement. A majority of these 20 companies are core companies in the non IT sector. This is in consonance with the trend of previous years and reflects upon corporate sectors' growing confidence on KIIT graduates.
Cent percent placement record in KIIT Group of Institutions year after year proves that placement is assured to each student here, whether one is in ITI or in its postgraduate courses. Equally encouraging is the repeat visits by most of the companies, which is a testimony to the fact that KIIT alumni have proved their mettle in these companies. "This validates our focus on quality academics and a pedagogy which develops overall personality of our students", says Prof. S. C. De Sarkar, Vice Chancellor, KIIT University. The university, after its inception in 2004, updated its syllabus to tune it to the fast changing requirements of the market. This is a continuous exercise which is supported by a constructive interface with the industry through industry academia programme. All branches of B.Tech Engineering, offered by the School of Technology, and MCA programme, offered by the School of Computer Application, have recorded 95 per cent placement.
Top five recruiters of these two schools are TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Mindtree and Assurgent, which have offered jobs to 305, 164, 36, 29 and 28 students respectively. Total 52 companies visited these two schools for recruitment. Annual salary offered by these companies ranges from Rs. 2.5 lac to Rs. 9.0 lac and the average salary is 5.75 lac. It may be recalled that TCS, Wipro and Infosys had created a sensation by recruiting 500 KIITians in first three days of the placement for 2008 passing out batch last year. However, it was not a show by IT companies only. Students of non IT branches of this batch also had dream placement in companies such as Reliance Energy, Tata Power, Vedanta, Shapoorji and Tata Project. Congratulating the students for their success, Dr. Hari Gautam, who has recently taken over as Chancellor of KIIT, wished them a successful career. Expressing happiness over excellent placement, he asked the students to put to a creative and constructive use all they have learnt here. Placement office of KIIT is overwhelmed with the messages of gratitude from the parents of the students. "Money spent for the education in KIIT is earned back within one year", said an elated guardian referring to the high salary jobs that KIIT students have been offered in the campus placement. While Dr. A. Samanta expressed satisfaction over the stupendous campus placement this year, he felt sorry for about 5% students of B.Tech and MCA who could not be placed, despite numerous companies visiting the campus, due to their poor academic career. He has instructed the Placement Cell to make some special arrangement for the placement of these students on priority basis.

KIIT is not Kalinga.
Don't expect an avg of 5.75, that has to be a lie. Even NSIT has avg arnd 5.5 and DCE around 4, NIT W CS avg is around 5.6.
Avg sal for Kalinga will be like 2.5-3lpa probably
