In the figure given below is cross section of a hollow sphere with considerable thickness..........will thr be electric field in the thickness part (the grey part).........?

if there is no charge on the sphere then , obviously no electric field!

if there is some chrge on it , then you can calculate the net electric field in the shaded region by finding the field at a general point in the grey region and then integrating it throughout the thickness. . .
