why do electric field originate from a positive charge?

There's reason for everything which happens, the challenge is to discover them if you can. |

bcoz if field lines were to go inside a positive charge instead of coming out of it then a test charge (which is a positive charge) will get attracted towards the positive charge which will be wrong as it shud get repelled.

Electric field lines are hypothetical and its a convention to say that they originate from +ve and terminate at -ve and test charge is +ve.

The direction field lines by definition is direction of force on positive test charge. As force on this charge is away from a positive charge (repulsion) the field lines appear to come out from positive charge)
