If U consider light's particle nature, then YES.
Obviously the KE of photon wud change becoz the velocity of light is different in different mediums.

Sorry, I am not able to get ur doubt.
Contradiction to law of conservation of energy kahan se aa gaya?
When we talk abt particle nature of light, we say that light is made up of particles known as photons. Now particles can have K.E. When it enters in a medium, the interaction of these photons with the particles of medium changes.
For ex-in a denser medium, the photons experience more force opposing their movement. It maybe due to increased friction or more collisions of photons with more closely packed particles of dense medium. And due to this force, the K.E. of photons wud decrease in a denser medium.
Hope its clear now.

dear tarin bansal i think light is treated as wave in refraction ithink it is one of the exceptons if light is a wave then its energy is given by e=h(muo) which is same in denser as well as rarer medium is it true????

Indeed.
The world is divided into 2 classes-----light and non-light.

But how can U talk abt KE if U R considering the wave nature of light. I am a bit confused abt this.
But I am sure abt one thing that both the nature's of light viz., particle and wave are valid and we can define the KE thing here using the particle nature of light.
And E=h.nu is the TOTAL energy of light and not KE. Maybe it happens that total energy remains same but KE changes. I am not so sure with this thing considering the wave nature of light.

velocity of light is higher in rarer medium because the number of collisions with the medium molecules is less!
In denser medium it collides with more number of molecules ! therefore some energy is lost ! velocity decreases!

@GopalKrishna KE of light is zero because mass of a photon is zero. Otherwise, how can you explain the increase in energy when light travels from denser to rarer???

@djdylan2000, Rest mass of a photon is zero. But that's a different concept. We shud not use it there.
If U say that its KE is zero, it also means that it cant exert any force but that's not true. Light exerts pressure also. So in this case, we can assume photon to be a normal particle.

The K.E of light in any medium is always infinity (Acc.to Einstein)
In relativistic Energy equation-E=Eo/sq rt 1-v^2/c^2
