How tdo I find the minimum distance between two given parabolas?

shortest distance between any two curves lies along their common normal......am i rite...in this way we can find shortest distance between ne two curves.......plz tell if m wrong....

Yes the shortest distance between the parabolas is along the common normal to both of them. Find the equation of common normal and then its intersection with parabolas. Then apply distance formula to find the shortest distance.
