A Cannon was elevated at an angle of 15o, throws a shell with muzzle speed of 196m/s. Due to air resistance the range decreases by 100mm.what is the observed range?
please give me a answer with detalied solution. rates for sure.

See, theoritical range = = R
Observed range will be R - 100mm.

use the formula R= u^2sin(2theta) / g where u=muzzle velocity of shell theta= 15degree g=9.8m/s^2
and then subtract 100mm from it

range R= {u2 sin(2*theta)}/g
Given data:
2 x theta = 2 x 15 = 30 degree; u = 196m/s, g = 9.8 m/s2
substituting,
R = {(196)2} x (Sin30)/9.8
= 1960 m
Observed range = R - 100mm
= 1960 - 0.1
= 1959.1m ........................ ANSWER
