For question 3 :
The assertion is correct and the reason is the correct explanation for it.
is equal to 2 only when there are two values such that .
=> which is clearly not possible as b/a is irrational.

Regarding the 2nd question, have you learnt trigonometric identities and solutions? Its pretty self explanatory is you have.
