The position vector of a point P is r=xi+yj+zk where x belongs to N,y belongs to N,z belongs to N and a=pi+qj+sk.If r.a<=10,then what is the number of possible positions of P ?NOTE:-Their is an arrow over r and a each and i,,j,k are associated with caps as usual.

Well you are going correct.Consider both the cases.Firstly,take p,q,s as natural numbers and then take them as integers.But certainly not rationals.

so u want number of positive integral solutions of p+q+r=10 so gi ve one value for each u get p+q+ v =7 use multinomial theorem, (n+r -1)Cr where n=3 and r=7 _
