Hi!... Is it true that resonance and hyper conjugation are given same preference for stability?

Hyperconjugation is less effective than pi-bond resonance. (I say that because hyperconjugation is really sigma-bond resonance.)

Acc to me hyperconjugation is most effective than all other effect like resonance, inductive or mesomeric.In comparing the stability of a compounds having both resonance and hyperconjugation , the effect of hyperconjugation dominates.so acc to me hyperconjugation shld be more effective.

The correct order is: resonance>hyperconjugation>inductive effect The reason is that resonance operates through  -bonds , thus the electrons move much easily . Whereas , inductive effect operates through sigma bonds, which are much stronger than pi-bonds, thus, electrons dont move easily. Thus, resonance is more contributing towards stab |
