assertion and reason asertion-reactivity of tert. alcohol is max for dehydration. reason- 1. it forms teriary carbocation which is stable 2.tert. carbocation is stable in nature. pls tell whether both corrcet .none is correct or asertion is corcect or reason is correct

i dont think d second ststement is correct.tertiary is not stable in narure if it wd hv been d case den d compounds wd hv existed in cationic form nd wd not tk part in rxn

both are wrong in the context of the question,the raectivity of 3 degree alcohol is max for dehydration causz there is a change hyb from sp3 to sp2 in which the electron density is oriented along the plane

Dehydration of alcohols follows the order - 30 > 20 > 10 This is because of the formation of the stable tertiary cation.
